About Me

I believe healing happens
in relationship.

Hello! I'm Tracey Nguyen, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. I work with young adults and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, difficult family dynamics, and the quiet weight of always trying to hold everything together.

So much of what brings people to therapy isn't a single crisis — it's a slow accumulation of patterns that no longer serve you. Maybe you've spent years putting others first and aren't sure what you even need anymore. Maybe the pressure to be perfect is exhausting you. Maybe you're stepping into parenthood and feeling things you didn't expect.

I get it — and I'm here for all of it. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. I draw from evidence-based modalities, including Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS), weaving them together in a way that feels personal to you.

Outside the therapy room, I'm a deeply curious person who loves learning, meaningful conversations, and the belief that every person has an innate capacity to grow and heal.

How I Can Help

You might be in the right place if
any of this sounds familiar…

I specialize in the areas below — but more than a list of topics, I'm here for you, in all your complexity.

Anxiety

Constant worry, overthinking, or that tight feeling in your chest that won't quit — we'll explore what's underneath and build tools that actually help.

Depression

Feeling flat, disconnected, or like you're going through the motions? You deserve support that helps you reconnect with yourself and what matters most.

Family of Origin & Intergenerational Trauma

The family we grew up in shapes so much of how we see ourselves and others. We'll gently untangle those patterns and write new ones.

Interpersonal Relationships

Whether it's friendships, romantic partnerships, or family dynamics — feeling truly seen and connected is something you deserve to experience.

People-Pleasing & Boundaries

Saying yes when you mean no. Putting everyone else first. We'll work on finding your voice and trusting that your needs matter too.

Perfectionism

High standards are one thing — but when nothing ever feels "good enough," it takes a toll. We'll explore what's really driving the pressure you put on yourself.

Perinatal & Maternal Mental Health

Pregnancy, postpartum, loss, fertility challenges — the journey to and through motherhood is profound. You don't have to navigate it alone.

Personal Growth

You don't need to be in crisis to seek therapy. If you want to nurture deeper self-understanding, clarity, or growth, this is a space for that too.

Words That Guide This Work

A little inspiration for the road.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.

Carl Rogers

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

Viktor Frankl

You are not broken. You are breaking through.

Alex Myles

Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do.

Brené Brown, PhD, LMSW

The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. And yet it is also the beginning of healing.

Carl Jung

People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don't find myself saying "soften the orange a bit." I watch with awe as it unfolds.

Carl Rogers

FAQ

Questions you might be
wondering about

If you're asking the question, that curiosity alone is an empowering first step. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Whether you're navigating a difficult season, feeling stuck in old patterns, or simply desiring deeper self-understanding — there is space for you here.

I currently offer telehealth sessions via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. This means you can attend sessions from the comfort of your own home, car, or any private space — wherever feels most comfortable and convenient for you.

The first session is really about getting to know each other. I'll ask some questions about your history, what's been on your mind lately, and what you're hoping for from therapy. There's no pressure to share more than you're ready to — we move at your pace.

This really depends on you and what you're working on. Some people find that a focused 3–6 month period is helpful, while others find long-term support more meaningful. We'll check in regularly about your progress and adjust as we go — you're in control.

Yes — what you share stays between us. There are a few legal limits to confidentiality, such as a risk of harm to yourself or others, suspected child/elder/dependent adult abuse, and court orders. We'll discuss this during our first session so you know what to expect.

At this time, I am only able to provide therapy to clients who are residents of California, as this is where I am licensed. If you're outside of California, I encourage you to reach out to a therapist licensed in your state.

That's such an important question, and I appreciate you thinking about it! If at any point you feel like we're not the right fit, I will support you in finding someone who is. Your well-being comes first.
